Comment on the Widmer-Schlumpf's understanding of "freedom" and integration PDF Print E-mail
Bern, 28th Jamada al-Uula 1431 / 10th May 2010

Comment by Abdel Azziz Qaasim Illi on the interview of the newspaper "Sonntag" with Federal Councillor Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf

Those who today opened the newspaper "Sunday" on page six and read the short interview with the Justice Minister Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, had the opportunity to inform themselves about her understanding of freedom and integration. I took the liberty to comment on some statements of the Federal Councillor below:

In her plea against the "burqa" she speaks in particular about the "visual recognition", the "sense of security" and "accountability" as positive arguments for a ban. However, it is not entirely clear to me...

Bizarre muddle-heads, with growing fan base? PDF Print E-mail
Letter to the editor to the article "Too much room for nonsense" in NZZ, 27.04.2010

Bern, 28.04.2010

"Zealot", "bizarre figures" with "abstruse ideas" Rainer Stadler calls us and he is critical of the media attention in connection with the young Islamic Central Council. Of course we would not have deserved this stage, because as is made clear in the introduction, it will not result in more than "noisy words". The author does seem to have difficulties with the something new. What is new is that Muslims in Switzerland have learned from the minaret debate that they have to reach themselves the definition of sovereignty, what was the Islam and what actions are part of the cult. It is also...

IZRS-President has no Relations with Terrorists PDF Print E-mail
Bern, 4th Jumuda al-Awwal / 18.04.2010

Supplement and clarification of  the "SonntagsBlick" news of 18.04.2010

(qi) The President of the Islamic Central Council Switzerland (ICCS) distances himself from any form of terrorism. Neither did he ever have a "connection" with terrorists, nor has he any relation with the Libyan GICL. He explicitly states that his accused Yemeni business partner was in February 2007 acquitted by the Federal Criminal Court in Bellinzona and got for the injustice against him financial compensation.

The demonstration of 2006 at the Federal Square was a public event. It is not within the competence of an organizer of a demonstration to identify persons who...
